BIOGRAPHY

Uschi Groos was born in Germany. She trained as a photographer and works today as a freelance photographer based between Germany and La Gomera, Spain.
In 2018, she founded the artist residency Casa Tagumerche on the island of La Gomera. The space fosters artistic exchange and has hosted artists from around the world, creating an international platform for dialogue, collaboration, and production.
Her photographic work has been exhibited in national and international galleries in both solo and group exhibitions. She has also been widely published in magazines worldwide.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My work is driven by an interest in untold or overlooked stories. I am drawn to following them closely and translating them into a visual language.
These stories strongly guide my practice. If I could write, I would tell them in words as well. But my language is photography, and this defines all my work.
